A Fast-Growing Town With Room to Spread Out
Epoxy flooring in Little Suamico covers a lot of ground, because the town itself does. Little Suamico spans about 37.4 square miles of Oconto County, and its population grew from 3,877 in 2000 to 4,799 in 2010 and 5,536 in 2020. That is a 43% jump in twenty years. Much of that growth came as new homes on larger lots, many with attached garages plus a detached building out back. We coat both.
Two kinds of floors on one property
A typical Little Suamico job can include two very different slabs.
The attached garage. Usually newer concrete, often three stalls, finished smooth with a power trowel. It looks clean but it is too slick for a coating to grab. We grind it to open the surface first.
The pole barn or detached shop. Often a larger slab poured for equipment, a boat or a camper. These floors can have saw cuts, control joints, curing compound or a sealer from the builder. Each of those changes the prep plan, so we check for them during the estimate.
Families and busy garages
Census figures from 2000 showed 42.3% of Little Suamico households had children under 18, and 71.1% were married couples. Those are family-heavy numbers, and they match the garages we see: bikes, sports gear, a second fridge and two vehicles that come and go all day. For that kind of traffic, a Full-Flake Epoxy Floor is our usual pick. The chips hide tracked-in dirt and road film, and the texture gives better footing when the floor is wet from a snowy driveway.
Getting the floor done fast
A busy household does not want the garage closed for long. Polyaspartic Floor Coatings cure faster than traditional epoxy and work across a wider temperature range. That helps in spring and fall, when a cold slab can slow an epoxy cure. We can often return a garage to light use sooner with a polyaspartic topcoat. We confirm timing after we check the slab temperature on install day.
Where we work in town
Little Suamico includes two unincorporated communities. The Little Suamico community sits along County Road J, south of County Road S. Sobieski lies along County Road S, west of US 41. We cover both, plus the newer homes and rural parcels in between. The town is a short drive north of Suamico and Green Bay, so scheduling an estimate here is easy.
What to have ready for the estimate
- Rough size of each building, or the number of car stalls
- What the floor holds now: vehicles, a boat, tractors, a home gym
- Any sealer, paint or builder coating already on it
- Cracks, low spots or areas where water sits after rain or snowmelt
Colors that suit a working property
On a rural lot, the garage floor sees mud, gravel and field dust as well as road salt. Darker flake blends in grays, browns and tans hide that kind of dirt best between cleanings. Lighter solid colors brighten a dim pole barn but show tire marks sooner. We bring chip samples to the estimate so you can see them on your own concrete, in your own light, before you choose.

Little Suamico Questions
Can you coat a pole barn floor in Little Suamico?
Yes, if the slab is sound. Outbuilding floors often have saw cuts, curing compound or no vapor barrier, so we test moisture and look at the joints first. For equipment and trailers, we usually recommend a heavier shop system.
My house is new. Does the garage floor still need grinding?
Yes. New garage slabs are usually troweled very smooth, and coatings do not bond well to that finish. Grinding opens the surface so the coating locks in. New concrete also needs to cure fully before it is coated.
Should I coat the garage and the shop at the same time?
It can save a trip, but it is your call. We quote each building separately so you can see the cost of each and choose the order that fits your budget.
