Pulaski Has Been Adding Homes for 100 Years
Pulaski is a good example of why epoxy flooring can't be one-size-fits-all. Wikipedia's census table shows the village growing every single decade since 1910, from 436 people to 3,870 in 2020. The biggest jump came between 1990 and 2000, when the count rose from 2,200 to 3,060. So a garage on one street might be decades older than a garage two blocks away.
Three floors we see often
The older village garage. Smaller, single or double stall, often with a painted floor that is peeling and a few cracks. The paint has to come off. We grind it down to bare concrete and fill the cracks before coating.
The 1990s and 2000s attached garage. Usually a solid two-car slab that has taken twenty-plus winters of salt. Expect some scaling near the door and stains under where the cars sit. Grinding removes the damaged top layer.
The newer build. A smooth, dense slab, sometimes with a builder's sealer. It looks clean but needs a full grind so the coating can bond.
Basements, rec rooms and bars
Pulaski is a family town. In 2010, 38.6% of households had children under 18, and the median age was 33.6. Many families use the basement as a play area, a gym or a place to host. That makes it a good fit for coatings:
- Basement floor epoxy for laundry and storage areas that need to be easy to clean.
- Metallic epoxy for a finished rec room or basement bar, with a glossy, swirled look.
- Full-flake for a home gym, where grip and toughness matter.
We test the slab for moisture first. Damp slabs need a different primer, and leaks need fixing before any floor goes in.
Winters on the edge of three counties
Most of Pulaski is in Brown County, with pieces in Shawano and Oconto counties. Wherever the line falls, the roads get salted all winter, and that salt ends up on the garage floor. A polyaspartic or full-flake epoxy system keeps brine on the surface so it can be squeegeed out. Polyaspartic also cures in a wider temperature range than standard epoxy, which helps in early spring and late fall.
Shops and trades
For workshops, contractor garages and small commercial spaces, our shop floor epoxy uses a thicker build that handles fluids, heavy tools and daily traffic.
Getting ready for company
Polka Days brings crowds into town each summer, and lots of families host gatherings in the garage or basement. A coated floor is easy to sweep and mop, and spills wipe up instead of soaking in. If you are planning a party or a graduation, give us a call well ahead of time. Most garage floors take one to two days to install, plus cure time before you set up tables or park. We will give you a date that leaves room for the floor to fully harden.
What we check on the visit

Pulaski Questions
My Pulaski garage floor has old paint peeling off. Can you coat over it?
We don't coat over it. We grind the paint off down to clean concrete, then repair cracks and apply the new system. Coating over loose paint is a common reason floors fail.
Is metallic epoxy a good idea for a basement bar or rec room?
It can be, if the slab passes a moisture test. Metallic epoxy gives a glossy, poured look that cleans easily. We check moisture first and pick the primer to match.
Do you work in the Shawano County part of Pulaski?
Yes. We cover the whole village and the surrounding towns, no matter which county your home is in.
