A River Village With Two Sides

Wrightstown homeowners usually call us about epoxy flooring for a garage first and a basement second. The village sits on both banks of the Fox River, which runs right through the middle of it. Hoel Wright started a trading post and ferry here in 1833, and a post office named Wrightstown has operated since 1852. The village has grown a lot since then, and fast in recent years.

Growth since 2000

Wikipedia shows 1,934 residents in 2000, 2,827 in 2010 and 3,179 in 2020, with a 2024 estimate of 3,303. In 2002 the village annexed land in the Town of Kaukauna in Outagamie County. Much of that growth came as new homes with attached garages.

For those newer slabs, prep is about surface, not damage. Smooth, hard concrete has to be diamond ground before a coating will bond. We also fill early shrinkage cracks and clean out control joints.

Older homes near the river

The older core of the village has homes with smaller garages and basements that may be painted, patched or damp. Homes close to a river can see higher moisture in the slab. We test every basement before we quote. If moisture is high, we use a primer made for it. If water is coming through a crack or wall, that gets fixed first.

Matching the system to the space

1. Everyday garage: full-flake epoxy with a clear topcoat, our most common pick for grip and hiding salt. 2. Garage you need back quickly: a polyaspartic system, which cures fast and handles a wider temperature range. 3. Simple and clean: solid-color garage epoxy with a clear top. 4. Basement laundry or storage: basement epoxy sized to the moisture test. 5. Finished lower level: metallic epoxy for a poured, glossy look. 6. Shop or business: thicker shop and commercial epoxy for tools, fluids and traffic.

A young community

In 2010 the median age in the village was 33, and the average household had 2.75 people. Households like that fill garages with bikes, sports gear and two cars. A seamless floor makes cleanup easier and stops winter salt from eating into the concrete.

Old buildings, new uses

Wrightstown keeps its older buildings in use. The 1911 St. John Lutheran Church became Turner Street Music Hall in 2022. If you are working on an older building in the village, we can coat a basement, storage room or back-of-house floor as part of the update.

Cold-season scheduling

Brown County winters are long, and many Wrightstown garages are unheated. Standard epoxy needs warm concrete to cure right. When the slab is cold, we look at a polyaspartic system, heat the space, or wait for a better week. A rushed install in the cold is one of the main reasons garage coatings fail early, and we would rather move the date than redo a floor.

What you get in writing

Your quote lists the floor size, the grinding and repair work, each coat in the system, and the total price. If something changes during the job, we write it up and wait for your approval.

Wrightstown Questions

My Wrightstown home is near the river. Is a basement coating risky?

Not if we plan for moisture. We test the slab first. Higher readings call for a moisture-tolerant primer. Active leaks need to be fixed before we coat, because no coating stops running water.

Do you serve the Outagamie County side of Wrightstown?

Yes. We cover the whole village, including the area annexed from the Town of Kaukauna, plus the surrounding town of Wrightstown.

How fast can I use my garage again?

It depends on the system and the temperature. Polyaspartic floors usually return to service sooner than standard epoxy. We put the walk-on and park-on times in writing.
